Michael Turner – Lawyer

Hello website browsers, my name is Michael and I am the Legal Practitioner Director of Black Bear Legal.

That means that I am responsible for all the legal work we produce and run the law practice day to day.  Of course I get assistance from other staff but supervise their endeavours.

I’ve been working almost exclusively in the area of civil litigation since 2012, following my migration from the United Kingdom in 2009.

I’ve  always enjoyed litigating and appearing in court.  I’ve represented clients and appeared in the Supreme, District and Magistrates Courts of Queensland and appeared for clients in the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) and the Federal Court of Australia.

I started Black Bear Legal in 2017 so that I could focus solely on litigation and dispute resolution so I could apply myself 100% to the skills required to bring a heated dispute under control and bring it to a successful end for my clients.

A Little More Personal Stuff About Me

I am originally from the United Kingdom (Wales) where I worked in the engineering and construction industry for 12 years before deciding to migrate to Australia in 2009 and become a Lawyer.

I have 3 children (18, 5 and 1) and my wife and I moved to Brisbane in 2009 for 2 years before moving up to the Sunshine Coast in 2011 to set up a family home and set down roots!

Being a Welshman, I have a love for Rugby Union, a good ale or two, and constantly complaining about the unbearable heat here on the Coast.

When I’m not working, children’s activities dominate my life and keeping my wife and kids happy is the key to a happy life!
